Suburban community with separate housing devoted to greener, cleaner living within current socio economical structures. A self-sufficient community using the latest and most effective technologies to maximize productivity with minimal environmental impact through the use of energy efficient building, solar panels, windmills, and water recycling.

In the interest of developing this community, I must find information on:

Solar panels and using their power

Rain water barrels

Using graywater

Pasteurizing milk on a small scale

Hydrogen or electric buses

Small electric vehicles -http://www.electric-bikes.com/lev.htm

Suggestions are welcome.

Pasteurizing milk on a small scale is dead easy. I grew up on fresh goats' milk. We had dairy goats and milked them, pastuerized the milk and consumed it all in the same morning. Just heat it to 165 degrees Fahrenheit and stir it to make sure it all reaches that temperature.
You can also buy machines to do the job; see this website: http://www.caprinesupply.com/shop/past_milk.html

I'd also like to see North America get going with the Reva.

Well, if we want to have a hope of saving the planet, it means doing something. Spreading information is a good start.

Hey! Sorry I'm belated on this, I was a little thrown by where you put the invite.

I think this is a great idea. Something independent and a bit less structured than some of the other sites - you've already got people with hands-on knowledge commenting. And don't worry about immediate recruiting. This is the kind of thing that takes a while, if you're going to have useful things happening.

Thanks for following up on the idea. You have a talent for just starting things. As in - everyone is talking about this why don't I just go do it? Which is very awesome.
